EVELYN ANKERS
I just wanted to take a little time to shine the spotlight on who I consider to be the #1 classic Universal actress, Evelyn Ankers. I refer to her as an actress because I dislike the term "scream queen" It makes me think of an actress in a "B" movie and she certainly was not. She was raised in South America in a little village in the Andes. But fortunately for us she made her way to Hollywood to star in some of the greatest movies ever made. She had the opportunity to work with such greats as Lon Chaney Jr. and Bela Lugosi. It is because I consider the Wolfman to be her most famous film is why I decieded to put the tribute in this section. ,Some of her other films were The Ghost of Frankenstein and The Mad Ghoul. She also did the InnerSanctum series of films for Universal. She was married to another Universal star, Richard Denning(The Creature From The Black Lagoon) She will never be forgotten.
