Have a potato! What? I prefer fries myself. This is a strange entry in the Universal classic horror series. It was made after Frankenstein and had an odd message at the beginning of the film. I don't know if there was any controversy about who played Morgan but I know for sure it is Karloff.
The one question I wondered about this movie was the Fenns butler Morgan always got violent when he was drinking. So why would they have alcohol in the house that he could get into and cause problems? It just makes for a good movie I guess. The cast includes of course Boris Karloff and Ernest Thesinger (both would end up in the Bride of Frankenstein) and Charles Laughton was also there. He was the husband of Elsa Lanchester again the Bride of Frankenstein. Last but not least directed by James Whale, you guessed it, the director of Bride of Frankenstein. Gloria Stuart was present and would work with Whale again on The Invisible Man. A very unusual movie but a classic none the less.
